Lake Oswego Real Estate – Homes for Sale in Lake Oswego

Luxury Home on Lake Oswego

Lake Oswego is a suburb of Portland, located about 8-10 miles south of downtown. Once a former iron and smelting town, it is now one of Portland’s most affluent suburbs. Even a few of our beloved Trailblazers call Lake Oswego home.  This mostly residential community prides itself on its well-kept homes, strong community, and public parks.  In fact, most Lake Oswego neighborhoods are home to a park, if not two or three. So regardless of your proximity to Portland, you can still find an abundance of outdoor recreation; whether it’s a forest hike, a trail to mountain bike, or a river to fish – this is Oregon, after all.

Golf and tennis opportunities also abound. Try out the Oswego Lake Country Club and Golf Course if you prefer a classy round of drinks and golf or the equally good Lake Oswego Golf Course in the Palisades neighborhood, open to the public year round.  Luscher Farm, a large public agricultural park,  is another popular destination.  Not only do they have a 10-acre community supported CSA program but they constantly run classrooms and workshops on urban gardening, composting, organic techniques, and much, much more. There is also a thriving arts and culture community in Lake Oswego. The Lakewood Center for the Arts, located in the Riverfront neighborhood, is the local theater company and draws a large crowd. Throughout the year, many arts and crafts festivals, holiday events, and local Farmers Markets are held in various parks and community gathering spots around town.

When it comes to Lake Oswego Real Estate, the home styles and prices swing wildly from one end of the spectrum to the other. You can find many charming English cottages, classic Tudors, grand stone estates, along with more modern condos and row houses. Housing prices in Lake Oswego trend toward the expensive, with a large percentage that range from $1-7 million. The most high-end real estate is found around Oswego Lake in the Northshore and Southshore neighborhoods.  Equally pricey are the surrounding neighborhoods, such as First AdditionCountry Club, Westbay, Palisades, and Upland. However, there are also a large number of affordable homes and condos, many great for even first-time home buyers.  Check out some of the neighborhoods on the Real Estate search map below, and see what’s right for you!
