The Sumner neighborhood sits between the adjacent Northeast neighborhoods of Cully and Park Rose. The area was named after the Helensview High School, which was originally the Sumner Elementary School. The Sumner neighborhood features mostly older homes, and has very active residents who formed the area in the early 1990s to have more influence in local government.
