The Humboldt neighborhood is home to many younger Portland residents with lots of shops lining nearby Mississippi Avenue and Williams Avenue. Portland Community College has a large influence in the area and many students and faculty residents. The neighborhood sits east of I-5 between North Killingsworth Street and Ainsworth Street. Residents and business owners alike take pride in the number of locally owned shops and restaurants in the area, and there are plenty of great ones to choose from. Most of the homes in the Humboldt neighborhood are classic Portland bungalows from the early 20th century.
